Dr. Zakk Franklin

Dr. Franklin grew up in Houston, TX, and earned his Biology degree from the University of Houston, where he discovered his passion for science and medicine. Before pursuing veterinary school, he gained valuable experience as a veterinary assistant in small animal general practice. He went on to earn his DVM from Purdue University, fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Dr. Franklin has special interests in feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, and clinical pathology. He is especially passionate about enhancing the veterinary experience for cats and strengthening the human-animal bond through compassionate, client-centered care.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Franklin enjoys rock climbing, weightlifting, and playing the drums. He and his fiancée, Anna, share their home with two beloved cats: Mango, a calico, and Gemma, a gray tabby. They love exploring Austin’s vibrant food and live music scene together.
